The answer

Will this system provide the answer to every question? What should we have for dinner? Chicken beats fish. Burgers beat chicken. Finally pasta wins out over burgers. Pasta it is! What kind of sauce? Pesto beats marinara.....

Raise your hand if you played in the first half

Really? Wow. I don't recognize any of you.

I do miss it. At least we still have hockey, lacrosse, college basketball and that one with the grass & the hotdogs.

Greetings from South Park

Thanks to Katie for passing this along.

My new favorite wine

Wine steals current house “bubbly”.
2005 Saracco Moscato d'Asti - it is fruity and cheap (just like me!).

Describe by those with a larger vocabulary than mine as “slightly effervescent, sexy, seductive with gorgeous tropical fruit” – again, just like me. I’d also add in the descriptive terms “fizzy” and “melted-otter-pop-like"

Excuse to make this

Reasons why I should have kids soon:
Over 30
Boyfriend of 3, no wait, 4 years (is it 5 years?)
Can keep pets and most plants alive
Sane excuse to embark in craft project like this

Seriously, that is the sweetest thing I have seen in a long time. Think the dog will like it?

Take a bite out of the Oregon Trail

You can get sourdough starter that was brought west from Missouri in 1847. Crazy! Just send a self addressed envelope and in 10 days you’ll have a piece of pioneer living to feast upon. Thanks Carl & friends! I can’t wait to make some of these breads.

Predictions

I have a theory and it has proved to be quite accurate at predicting weather. If football is played (requiring indoor activity) on a Sunday it will be a prefect Southern California day – sunny and warm with a light ocean breeze and 72-80. Example 1: February 4th – 80° and sunny. If football is not played it will be cold and rainy during my weekendly outdoor activity, such as going to the beach. Example 2: January 28th - 60°, overcast and rainy.

But alas it is the end of football season. I am looking forward to D refinishing the dining room table and chairs, since his weekends will be free of sport activities.

“Oh, really? You signed up to be a lacrosse coach for a high school? That’s cool. Should be fun! When does practice start? Next weekend? Really? Okay. Think we can refinish the table & chairs this weekend? No. I guess you are right. It won’t be a good time, since it will be raining all weekend.”

This is why people hate democrats

I'm sure you've probably heard it before, "democrats are too involved in peoples personal business."

I would characterize myself are rather liberally leaning, but several years living in Arizona with admittedly a little influence from a few of my friends there, I find myself seriously questioning my choice to register as a democrat (I do this mainly so I can vote in the primary elections, but I digress). The other day on NPR I heard this story. I was almost going to call in to express my opinions, which I never do but thankfully someone beat me too it, the first caller stating "it's stuff like this that gives us democrats a bad name." Today I came across this article. Couple this with the bans on saturated fats and smoking and it's not hard to understand the country's frustration with the left. Anyway, I'm quite sure that some of you have much more interesting and goodly wordered thinks on this, but I just wanted to throw it out there. I go back to a favorite quote from a friend in Tucson "I lean so far to the right that I come up on the left."
