Project Linus
Project Linus was featured on the NBC Nightly News a few weeks ago (click here to see the clip, scroll up to the top of the page). Check out The Quilt Blog to the quilts I’ve made for Project Linus.
This is a true story: While we lived in Tucson I made blanket deliveries to TMC. One day the Tucson coordinator lady called me to say that the she has a set of 50 or so blankets ready to go out for delivery. She lived way over on the east-side of Tucson and by the time I got home from work I was tired and didn’t want to drive all the way over there. But I went anyway. I was sitting at a red light at Golf Links & Kolb when I was rear-ended. I sat in the car while calling 911, thinking “god damn it – I try to do something nice and now I’ll have to spend all night filling out police reports and talking on the phone to insurance companies. My deductible is $500 and I don’t have that kind of money. My car will be in shop for weeks. SUCK!!!! #$%&#@!!!!!” I hang up with the 911 operator and get out of the car to see how the other drive is and to check the damage. He is fine, but the front end of his car is smashed. My car (my plastic Honda with a plastic bumper) is fine. Not a scratch. No kidding.
